As a set designer tasked with bringing the vision of a weekly live show to life amidst the backdrop of a global pandemic, my role was both exhilarating and riddled with unique challenges. The project aimed to showcase international live performances every week, promising a diverse tapestry of cultural experiences to audiences worldwide. Despite not being involved in the conceptualization of the show itself, I was entrusted with the pivotal responsibility of designing the decor set, an opportunity I embraced with fervor and determination.

From the outset, the constraints imposed by the pandemic loomed large, presenting formidable obstacles that tested the limits of our creativity and resourcefulness. Assembling a crew proved to be a daunting task, with strict safety protocols and limitations on gatherings complicating the recruitment process. Nonetheless, I remained undeterred, leveraging my network and tapping into unconventional avenues to assemble a dedicated team of artisans and craftsmen, united in our shared passion for bringing artistic visions to life.
Compounding the logistical challenges was the scarcity of materials, a consequence of disrupted supply chains and limited access to traditional sources. Faced with this reality, I embraced a philosophy of adaptability and resourcefulness, scouring local markets and repurposing existing materials to breathe life into my designs. Every element of the set was meticulously crafted with ingenuity and attention to detail, reflecting a fusion of Middle Eastern influences and bohemian aesthetics that captured the essence of the show's theme.
Navigating the intricacies of collaboration in a masked environment posed its own set of challenges, as communication barriers and physical limitations threatened to impede the creative process. Yet, amidst the constraints, I found solace in the collective spirit of our team, united by a shared commitment to our craft and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
